Forever

It feels like I haven't blogged in forever. But that is just me, I am the same with a diary. I start off with good intentions then life catches up with me and I just don't give myself the time to sit down and blog. Well lets see how far I get this time. Mathilde is currently sitting on the coffee table watching the Wiggles. One part of my brain is telling me to go get her off and the other part of my brain thinks that she looks so damn cute sitting there :).

So I have relocated with the family to Longford. A quaint historical town 20 minutes south of Launceston. House is adorable, yard is nicely fenced off so Mathilde can play and it is very very quiet. But it is only quiet when the children and husband are not here! Have been busy making dresses for Hope and Me, brooches for Cocoon and new stuff for markets in the summer and for Mathilde. Got a new order for a gorgeous little shop in Launceston called The rabbit hole, so TillyBoo brooches are now being stocked there also.

Life is feeling very tiresome and still not enough hours in the day. I don't get to do near enough sewing as I would like, don't spend near enough time with my Isabella who is 12 or enough quality time with my husband. Then there is of course my to step-daughters and my Mathilde and oh yeah me. I did start to do Zumba 3 times a week which I was really really loving but haven't been for about 2 weeks and don't get to see my friends near as much as I would like.

Well there thats whats happening, Life!!

This green one is definately my favourite

My gorgeous Mathilde Grace growing up so quickly. I love it when I upload pics onto my computer and find some that the children have taken.

Received a call the other day from Suze at Cocoon all the brooches sold need more!!!! How exciting but I don't get excitied. Don't get me wrong I love that what I make people obviously like but I just don't show the excitement. My husband on the other hand gets very excited and very very proud of me. So here is the new batch of brooches for Cocoon. Not so many of the red as this is vintage fabric cut from a top and now it has all run out but hopefully Suze's customers will love the other brooches.

The day I dropped off Cocoons order I decided to pop into the shop next door as Suze had given her one of my Bebe Petit Sacs. She placed an order for 4 of these, 4 pillowcase dresses and 6 brooches/hairclips. Now that is soooooo cool.

Pictures

A couple of lovely stalls at Niche-all wrapped up market. 'Isabelle Audrey' handmade hats
My stall 'Bebe Petit Sac's', sofie le giraffe and 'My Dolly and Me' just to add to the display

Vintage orange floral print pillowcase dress (still for sale)

My stall 'TillyBoo' with new 'TillyBoo' labels and my vintage fabric bunting

What have I been up to?

What haven't I been up to, is more the question. Had a great time at the Niche market it was a lot of fun, met some really really lovely and creative stall holders. Loved being out front in the public again and showing people what I do. I had sooooo many great comments and few sales and orders. I had made up a couple of sample grown up pillowcase tops in black with a funky fabric border. Had them on display and they sold which was lovely.

There have been birthdays, my sister Shana who is also very very creative with food had a lovely afternoon tea for 'ladies and gentlemen' combining it with mothers day which was the same day. My Isabella turned 12 on the 4th of May but was on camp. But as I am sure any mum would do, off I went to Camp Banksia in Port Sorrell to see her. I only got to spend an hour with her but it was worth the trip. We had an afternoon tea for her the Sunday before and when she got back Antony cooked her Chilli Con Carne which he does better than me now, and I baked her a cake.

Hazels birthday is today so we are having another afternoon tea, more cupcakes and tomorrow is mine. But I leave my birthday in the hands of my husband I plan everyone elses so I am sure he can cope with organising mine! Inbetween all this I am making more vintage pillowcase dresses and grown up dresses and creating new stuff also. We are also going on a family holiday at the end of the month to the Gold Coast so that is exciting too.

My Mathilde is sick and sleeping which is good that she is sleeping but strange. I am so use to her being up and about. But on the upside I am getting lots done.

I am going to add some pictures in my next pot

Maternity Tops

These are pictures of a friend of mine I reconnected with on Facebook. She now lives in Italy with her lovely family. As soon as she saw TillyBoo she ordered some for herself and her adorable little girl Ava. The pillowcase tops Cassie is wearing are custom made for her. I am now in the process of making some in three sizes sm, med and large and will take orders for maternity ones. Hopefully I will have some at Niche.

Busy busy busy

To anyone who ever said being a parent is easy then they are obviously not a parent. Blogging for me is almost like keeping a diary and I am pretty hopeless at keeping a diary. But maybe, just maybe I haven't blogged lately because I have sooooooo much more happening and finding time to blog just isn't on the top of my list of priorities. Even though it should be because I enjoy it but as we all know mums never prioritise what they enjoy before their children. Thats why we have wine.

Besides being busy with H.I.M and Mathilde I have been trying to madly make dresses and bebe petit sacs for the upcoming Niche market being held on the 30th April and the 1st May. As you can imagine it is a tough job juggling all this and for me having a messy house around me just does nothing for my creative juices. So I firstly need to tidy my house which can sometimes take some time, then get Mathilde down for her sleep, which of course never runs according to plan. And in between all this I need to eat and I need to feed my girl. So maybe I should end my blog here and get on with it while my baby girl is busying herself in the lounge room (well more like her toy room now).

I will get new pictures up as soon as possible, maybe I can enlist my husband to do that for me.

shopping

A friend of mine had told me about Tresca op shop in Exeter. Everytime I saw her she would say "have you been to Tresca yet?" and my answer was always "no". Well at last I went and WOW what fun they had a special on, fill a shopping bag for $3. There were bins filled with sheets and curtains, pillowcases and tablecloths . I was like a mad woman with my head buried deep in the bins scrounging like crazy. I did very very well and so did my sister who I took with me.

The day before I went to Evandale market it wasn't looking good. So far there was a bit of a trend with young women selling their discarded clothing which definately did not include anything vintage. Vintage to them would mean last seasons Supre fashions! When I thought all was lost and we were ready to go, I came across a stall that was FILLED with vintage everything. Clothing, both baby and womens, oddments and fabric, it was wonderful and I got plenty for Mathilde, when she is a bit older, something each for the H.I.M gang (Hazel, Isabella and Maizie) and bits and pieces to cut up and use for my bebe petit sacs.

I got three more dresses made today and now have plenty of vintage fabrics to work with for more dresses. I am very very excited. Have just cooked the busy womens choc pudding (packet mix) for H.I.M gang and it is ready so I better go.

Todays market

Well the weather did not look the best. Very overcast and a bit chilly. But popped on my little cardi and a scarf and off Bella and I went. I was outside this week (hence why I was concerned about the weather). But I needn't have worried, it didn't rain, it didn't get hot and I had good sales. So all in all a very good day.

Ant and the girls all popped in for a while. They went off shopping and he popped into the hall and did some shopping. Buying Mathilde the most gorgeous orange knitted beanie and I this beautiful little pin cushion. Made by possumgirl, who also had some gorgeous handmade fabric scarves and other very clever little bits and pieces. You can find her at www.possumgirlshop.etsy.com she is on holiday at the moment but keep a look out.
So the plan for the next couple of weeks is to, have a relaxing easter (hopefully) with my family, sew some more dresses and bebe petit sacs. And the best part is the op-shopping I need to do to find some more vintage fabrics. I think I may have to venture out of Launceston though.
Have a wonderful easter and a beautiful day

Sleep

My baby is sleeping. My baby hasn't been sleeping, but now tonight she does and the funny thing is I can't. When I have slept it has been restless and filled with bizarre dreams. It is now 4.18 am and have been up since 3.30am. Yesterday with friends we talked about our babies sleep patterns and routines or more the point lack there of and NOW my baby sleeps and I can't.

So I guess I might as well make the most of it and post this long over due blog. The problems with posting blogs though are all the other fabulous blogs out there. So many blogs such little time.

As you know a fortnight ago I went to the civic homespun market http://www.civichomespunmarket.com.au/ I have a fantastic day, sold 2 bebe petit sacs and 2 vintage pillowcase dresses. The day had a vintage theme to it so there were so many more fabulous stall holders.
www.isismade.blogspot.com Isis makes beautiful upcycled handbound journals and badges amongst other beautiful items so go check out her blogspot and her etsy store.
Am having a problem uploading the photos I took of these gorgeous stall holders wares but you will see much much more on their sites.
So am off to the market again this weekend have made more dresses and bebe petit sacs and have my girl Isabella coming along to help me out. Be great too have some mummy and Bella time. So hope to see you there.

New name New look!

I purchased the latest Notebook magazine a couple of days ago and WOW what inspiration. But the only problem is there are not enough hours in the day, to both read about fantastic creative people on paper as well as all those oline. Oh what is a girl to do!

Well I have started to make a few more bebe petit sac and I finished making maternity tops and vintage pillowcase dresses for my friend in Italy. I have listed on etsy.com, have given my blog a facelift (but if my blog is anything like my home it will be updated often) and most importantly a new name TillyBoo.

Well as much as I love to write on here I must go and sort out dinner for the girls. Husband has just gone to the bottleshop and he is cooking us a lovely dinner this evening, how lucky am I??
Have added pics of maternity top, new bebe petit sac and what I did to my kitchen cabinet yesterday.

new stuff

I met a friend for coffee last week and as we were preparing to leave out of her handbag she whipped a fabric holder for her baby's nappies etc. You know something just big enough to fit in a couple of nappies, wetones etc and small enough to fit into your handbag. It was made of gorgeous fabrics, just funky enough for us groovy mums.

Even though it was not made from vintage fabric (they can be) it was still gorgeous and sometimes we all need something new and pretty! So at the weekend I decided to give it a go at making one myself. It is gorgeous I love it I hope you all do to.

Evandale Market

Well off Bella and I went to the market at 6.30 this morning, leaving Tilly with her dad. We got a great spot under the big trees. Which was perfect for when the sun came around in the late morning. But until then it was a tad bit chilly.

The morning started off slow but thanks to my wonderful friend Min loaning me a child mannequin (and a gorgeous green dress) it didn't take long for the lady across from me to purchase the green dress. Then 3 more were to be sold. It was very exciting, I think my husband was more excited though, I couldn't ask for a prouder husband! What makes the selling of my dresses so exciting is the fact that other people love them as much as I do. I mean the bit of extra cash I make is good but the making and selling is better. The atmosphere out there was so wonderful to it was lovely to spend the day there chatting to other stall holders and enjoying it all with my family.

Antony arrived mid morning with Mathilde and a few hours later we got a visit from Hazel and Maizie also. Oh and how could I forget my other little model, Cyrah who came for a visit. She loved that she could dump her jacket and baby doll in the back of my car while she had a look around with her mum, Shana. My coffee wraps did not prove to be as popular as I thought, nor were the baby singlets. I did give a couple of my wraps away to Eliza (Hazel and Maizies mum) and her partner Alistair. They were wrapped (pardon the pun haha) and went off to buy coffee and show them off.

Started to pack up at 1.30, before I left went and bought some more buttons and some baby singlets and onesies to do some more appliques. Oh and the lovely cupcake lady gave us a tray full of all her left over cupcakes. That was so wonderful of her, I in return gave her a couple of my wraps with a business card. Bella went over to another two stall holders and gave away coffee wraps and one gave me a zucchini. It was such a wonderful feeling trading our wares like that, I loved it!!!

So I guess this week I better get cracking. Op shopping to do searching for more pillowcases to make more dresses. Ordering new fabrics for Cassie in Italy who has put in an order for maternity style pillowcase tops and sewing on more appliques and making coffee wraps. Will keep you posted!
